A 17-year-old from Miami is facing serious charges including attempted murder in connection with a shooting last year and multiple armed robberies, authorities said.
Jencarlos Gamez had been arrested back on July 21 but is now being charged as an adult in connection with at least three separate crimes, Miami-Dade jail records showed.
In one case, he faces multiple counts of attempted murder and aggravated assault with a firearm for an incident that happened July 19, 2025, at the Berry Farm at 13720 Southwest 216th Street, arrest reports said.
According to the reports, one group of people attacked another group in retaliation for a previous attack, and during the encounter a gunshot went off, causing everyone to flee.
Investigators later obtained footage of the incident that helped them identify the shooter as Gamez, the reports said.
Gamez is also charged with armed robbery, aggravated battery with a firearm, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, carrying a concealed firearm, and possession of a firearm by a minor in a Dec. 13, 2025 incident in which he and two other suspects robbed a victim at gunpoint at the McDonald’s at 12185 Southwest 26th Street, the report said.
The suspects made the victim go into the bathroom and attacked him, with one of the other suspects pistol-whipped the victim multiple times while trying to take his bracelet and earring, the reports said.
Gamez punched the victim multiple times while demanding his property, and the third suspect held the victim down as they continued to attack him, the reports said.
The victim was able to escape and run for help, and Gamez was later identified as one of the suspects, and he gave a confession to his involvement in the robbery, the reports said.
Gamez is charged with armed robbery in the third alleged incident in which a victim was robbed at Eureka Park at 17021 Southwest 117th Court on July 8, the reports said.
The victim said his bookbag that contained a firearm was stolen from him at gunpoint, and he later identified Gamez as one of the suspects in a photo lineup, the reports said.
Gamez appeared before a judge on Wednesday, who ordered him held without bond.
