A Broward Sheriff’s Office deputy facing charges of domestic battery appeared before a judge on Tuesday.

Isaiah Williams, 27, was charged with simple battery, domestic battery by strangulation, robbery by sudden snatching with a firearm, and tampering/altering evidence, records showed.

During his court appearance, a judge set Williams’ bond at $70,000 and ordered that he give up all his firearms.

According to Miramar Police, officers on Monday responded at around 2 a.m. to the 11200 block of Southwest 45th Court for a domestic battery incident between Williams and a female partner.

Police said Williams left the scene before officers arrived.

He later surrendered and was arrested.

Further details about the incident were not available.

Williams was placed on administrative investigative leave without pay as a result, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
