Police responded to a home in Miami Gardens Thursday night where neighbors said a man was shot by his own father.

The incident happened along Northwest 154th Street, across from Rainbow Park Elementary School.

Neighbors said they heard gunfire around 5 p.m.

“We heard a loud like pow-pow-pow-pow,” one woman said. “We were looking around to see if it was close to us, I didn’t hear any hollering and screaming, no scrumbling, anything like that, so I walked back inside.”

The neighbor said it was a sad situation for the family.

“Yeah it is for a father and son to being going through such a thing,” she said.

The scene cleared later Thursday night, and police haven’t confirmed any details about what happened at the home.

A boarded up window was all that remained at the home indicating a shooting happened there.

“It’s a quiet area, my mom been staying here over 50 years plus,” the neighbor said.
