A well-known South Florida graffiti artist accused of going into the Miami Seaquarium and spray painting an announcer’s booth was arrested on Monday, authorities said.

Adam Vargas, 45, was charged with burglary of an unoccupied structure and criminal mischief.

During his court appearance, a judge set Vargas’ bond at $3,000 and ordered him to stay away from the Miami Seaquarium.

According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrived at 4400 Rickenbacker Causeway after receiving reports of burglary.

An arrest report said deputies were given a description of a man who arrived at the Seaquarium on a bicycle, and a security guard saw him on surveillance video.

As deputies canvassed the Seaquarium, they found Vargas at the Golden Dome area, where he was spray painting the announcer’s booth, the report said.

Deputies then told Vargas to stop and come to them, which he complied with, and was taken into custody.

Vargas, who goes by ATOMIK, has over 100,000 followers on Instagram.
